As Phillip wrote, move the pointer to the Top,Bottom, Left or Right edge/border of the selected cells. It may be necessary to jockey the pointer around a bit in order to have the hand appear.
BTW: The Option key need be used only if you intend to COPY the selected cells to a new location. In your message you wrote ' move', so no keys should be used.
